If information was the secret to success, we’d all be thin and rich and living on the beach. Because we’re awash in information.
But information isn’t enough. There has to be desire. There must be a burning desire to succeed.
But information and desire won’t take you the distance. You actually need to implement. You need to take action. And not just random action; but rather strategic action.
But even with abundant information, burning desire and consistent action, you’ll still get stuck without this.
If you believe you can, or if you believe you can’t, you’re likely right.
“Work expands so as to fill the time available for its completion.”
I experienced this as a young lawyer. If a brief was due in 6 weeks, it would take me 6 weeks to get it done. If the brief was do the next morning, well then it was done in the morning.
As a result, I’m a big believer in constraining time when it comes to project completion. Set a deadline and get ‘er done.
This works extraordinarily well. Except when it comes to one thing.
To open the doorway to your creative potential, give yourself the gift of time and space.
