I Broke The Rule

I don’t do it often. I always regret it when I do.

I said one thing. I should have said the other.

And there’s a huge cost involved.

You have a limited number of yeses to give.

Protect them at all costs.

Hit With A Brick

In distance training, they’re called bricks.

The back to back long runs.

The second one is often… unpleasant.

Comfort zones are called comfort zones… for a reason.

Because they’re pretty damn comfy… even when they’re not.

But all progress is made in the discomfort.

When you’re hit with a brick, keep going.

Pile on the bricks.

You’re not born with resiliency and grit.

You become.

The Dark Side of Productivity

I’m all about being productive.

Taking action.

Getting things done.

Getting the right things done.

But there’s a dark side to productivity.

Your creativity resides in the unproductive, in the not doing.

In the relaxation, in the reflection, in the re-creation.

In the being.

Dare I say… in the wasting of time.

So put this on your “to-do” list: be unproductive.
