Creating the Work & Life You LOVE

There Is ONLY One Path

There is only one path to success. If you don’t follow that one path, you’re screwed.

Not.

Whether it’s building a business, launching a product or program, delivering a workshop or writing a book, there are many paths to the “right” outcome.

You don’t need to get locked into someone else’s path.

You get to experiment. You get to play.

You get to decide the way that works for you.

And… if it doesn’t work… you get to choose again.

Wasted

Are you wasting enough time?

If not, you may want to re-examine your priorities.

Reflection; connecting with that place of stillness within you.

These are not luxuries.

They’re necessities.

Waste some time this week.

Your Number May Be Wrong

When you look back on 2020, how will you know that you’ve succeeded?

How about when you look back on your life?

A lot of people have a “number” in mind when they think about success: An income number; a net worth number.

But that may not be the right measure.

When all is said and done, you’ll not look back and wish that you’d billed more time, run more ads, closed more deals, launched more programs, accumulated more miles, networked more, Tweeted more, LinkedIn more, updated your Facebook status more frequently.

What will matter will be that you’ve paid attention – not to the urgent – but to the important.

What will matter will be the experiences you’ve had, the magic moments you’ve created, the lives you’ve touched, the love you’ve shared.

What will matter will be that you will have lived with joy… and without regret.

Your “number” is important.

But know the metrics that matter most.

Ya Wanna Suck In 2020

Yup, it’s the New Year.

You’ve made your plans; you’ve set your goals.

And… now… if you really want to make it an extraordinary year… you want to suck.

I was brought up in a household where failure was frowned upon.

And we live in a culture that tells us that, with a few simple hacks, we’ll enjoy overnight success.

We’d all like it to be easy.

But… as the great Jim Rohn once said, “Don’t wish it was easier; wish you were better.”

And in order to get better, ya gotta suck first.

Happy New Year.

Look Up

I was having a conversation with a friend of mine who’s a physical therapist. She told me that she was seeing more and more patients complaining of neck and upper back pain… because they were constantly looking down… at their smartphones, their tablets, and their laptops.

This week, look up.

From the dawn of our humanity, we have yearned for light.

We harnessed fire; we worshipped the sun.

Isaiah prophesied, “The people walking in darkness have seen a great light; on those living in the land of deep darkness a light has dawned.

The Christmas star, the North star… always… we’ve looked up with hope…. waiting for the dawn…

Around campfires and fireplaces, in churches and synagogues, at the dinner table and at bedtime, we’ve told the stories: That out of the darkness came the Light… and that the Light was very good.

This. This season.

At stone circles, around the tree, in the flicker of the menorah…

We look up.

We recall when darkness shrouded the earth.

We embrace the light; we celebrate the Light.

And we remember… that we are called to be that Light.
