Culturally we’re taught that in order to be successful, we need to be busy; that we need to work longer, harder and faster; that we need to work 24/7/365.
That’s not sustainable.
The great athletes, entertainers and artists – those who perform at the top of their game – know this. They work in highly focused concentrated periods of 4 or 5 hours a day; and then they turn their attention elsewhere.
They’re not constantly “on.” They don’t treat themselves like machines.
So many of us who are entrepreneurs and business professional think that we’re exempt from the rules of peak performance. We’re not.
In order to go the distance, in order serve in the world and make the impact you want to make, you need to protect the most important resource: you.
Don’t believe the bull.
