What a great reminder! Thanks Walt. My daily non negotiables include meditation and journaling. Without them, I don’t feel as calm and connected.

Morning pages, journaling, running and daily meditation…. non-negotiables…. and when I miss any of them, I am completely off center. Thank you for the note. Grateful for you, Tara.

Non-negotiable – Annual winter trip to ski back country in the Adirondacks. Essential for mental health. Thanks for all you do, Walt.

Well I would say that’s non-negotiable! No place like the Daks in the winter. Thank you for your note, Karen. Grateful for you.

Thank you Kevin. Running is one of my non-negotiables… and luckily Ann and I have one another to prod the other… because on these late fall and winter mornings one would definitely tend to negotiate!! Be well….

My Ashtanga yoga practice — 3-4 times per week, before work, after dropping off my daughter, no matter what — no matter how busy I am. I used to think sometimes I was too busy doing important things at work to make it to yoga; now I think I am too busy NOT to have a consistent yoga practice. Thank you Walt for reminding me how important this is!

Love this Margaret… when we stay at the practices long enough, they do become a part of our lives… and truly non-negotiable.

This helps me realize that I have too many “almost non-negotiables”. I’m pretty consistent with my CrossFit class, my morning meditation, eating healthy… but I haven’t yet developed the discipline to ramp these up to “non-negotiable”. Hmm… time to reset the button.

It’s always a work in process dear Fran.

    Hi Walt,
Short, but powerful. Thank you for taking the time to speak to us.
Morning readings and talking to God. If I don’t do this, I get farther and farther off purpose and forget to love others. And then what’s the point to anything? (Not that it’s easy or consistent.)

Yes, just a few powerful practices (disciplines) keep us grounded, centered and on track. A simple principle… but definitely not easy.
